In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make beaded bracelets that will be gifted into the community - freely and anonymously. Using letter beads and a wide mix of colours, you’ll create simple messages of encouragement, hope, or humour.

The Love Heals Project is about collective making with a shared purpose: creating small, tangible reminders that care exists. Come make a few, share them outward, and help carry kindness a little further. Sign up to save your spot in an upcoming session.

Who can join a workshop?

Anyone who wants to make something meaningful that brightens someone else’s day. We're all about inclusivity. These workshops are designed to be accessible to kids, teens and adults, neurodivergent-friendly, and welcoming to beginners, non-crafty humans, and creative enthusiasts alike.

What to expect during a Love Heals Project workshop

We provide everything - materials, guidance, and gentle facilitation - in a space that feels more like gathering around a kitchen table than attending a workshop. The pace is slow, the pressure is low, and the environment is sensory-aware.

Our aim is to make as many bracelets as possible to be gifted into the community (our big goal is 5,000!). Participants are welcome to keep one bracelet for themselves; the rest are made to be shared, carrying care and intention outward.u simply show up. We’ll have tea - and light snacks when budget allows.

What does it cost?

We offer a sliding scale of $0–20. Workshops are community-supported - choose the option that works for you:

  • $0 - Accessible for all. Choose this if cost is a barrier. Your presence matters most.
  • $5 - Support the facilitator. Helps cover facilitator time and light snacks.
  • $10 - Sustain the project. Supports planning, coordination, and program delivery.

Where are upcoming workshops held?

Upcoming Love Heals Project workshops, co-hosted by BRAINBOW and EdGE, are held at EdGE Learning Centre, 3737 16th Avenue, Ranger Park, Smithers.

What is the Love Heals Project?

The Love Heals Project is a community-powered movement of creativity, connection, and kindness. Together we make meaningful word-bracelets and gift them anonymously into the community as small acts of care and inclusion. Learn more about the project here.

What's the vibe?

The vibe is a mix of creative play, gentle connection, and doing something small but meaningful together. No pressure. No perfection. Chat if you like, or work quietly - both are welcome. This project isn’t religious, political, or tied to any belief system. Just people making something kind, side-by-side.

What kind of materials do we use?

We use high-quality beading elastic, colourful 6mm glass and acrylic beads, and a curated set of 12 letter options. The limitation is intentional - it invites imagination, creativity, and thoughtful expression.

For more customization and a full alphabet, explore BRAINBOW Mantra Bracelet Workshops.

Do I get to keep any of the bracelets I make?

Yes! Every participant is invited to keep one bracelet for themselves as a personal reminder - because kindness includes ourselves, too. The rest are donated, pooled and distributed out into the community.

What accessibility and sensory supports do you offer during workshops?

Accessibility is built into every workshop. Adaptations may include:

  • Attention to lighting, noise levels, and room setup, with space to move around
  • Earplugs or ear defenders available
  • Low-scent or no-scent environment
  • Small-group support, gentle pacing, and optional 1:1 assistance
  • Options to support fine motor challenges (e.g., larger-size beads)
  • Clear written instructions and verbal guidance
  • Pre-made kits to reduce decision overwhelm

Our goal is to create a calm, welcoming, and safe environment where participants of all abilities and sensory profiles can engage comfortably and at their own pace.

We’re committed to making our workshops as inclusive as possible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know in advance so we can ensure the space supports everyone.

What happens after a workshop?

After the workshop, your bracelets join hundreds of others made across the community. Together, they ripple outward -shared at events and gifted through community partners.

We also keep track of how many participants have taken part and how many bracelets we’ve created together, updating our community tracker as we work toward our goal of 5,000 bracelets.
