Host the Love Heals Project

Host the Love Heals Project

Hosting a Love Heals Project workshop is a simple way to bring people together to make something meaningful with their hands - and pass it on.

You gather a small group, and together you’ll make bracelets that are gifted back into the community, freely and anonymously. Using letter beads and a wide range of colours, participants create short messages of encouragement, humour, or quiet solidarity. Sometimes something as simple as a bracelet can act as a bridge.

We’ll guide the process, bring all the materials, and help create a low-pressure, welcoming experience that works for a range of ages and abilities.

Who can host a workshop? Who can join?

Anyone can host a Love Heals Project workshop. Workshops are open to everyone and welcoming for adults, teens, and kids (best suited for ages 7+, with younger children welcome when extra support is available). The workshops are neurodivergent-friendly and work well for both beginners and people who enjoy creative projects. If you’re unsure whether it’s a good fit, reach out and we’ll help figure out what will work best for your group.

Where & when are workshops held?

Workshops typically run for 2 hours and are usually scheduled for Tuesdays or Thursdays, with options for late morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. Other dates or times may be possible depending on availability - feel free to contact us to see what might work.

Workshops are typically hosted in a space provided by your group, such as a classroom, office, community room, club space, or home. If you don’t have access to a suitable venue, let us know - we can help arrange a space. Currently the Love Heals Project is limited to communities in the Bulkley Valley, from Hazelton to Houston

What's included? What do hosts provide?

We bring everything needed to make the workshop creative, welcoming, and inclusive, including all bracelet-making materials, clear instructions, and gentle facilitation throughout the session. We also help with set-up and clean-up.

Hosts provide the space, including tables and chairs, help with sharing information with participants, and on-site hosting support during the workshop. Offering light snacks or refreshments is completely optional.

If space or logistics are a concern, please reach out - we’re happy to find a solution together.

What does it cost?

Love Heals Project workshops are community-supported. The suggested contribution is $100, with sliding-scale options available. This support helps sustain facilitator time, coordination, and future workshops. You can choose an amount under “By donation” before booking or via the Love Heals Project campaign page.

What is the Love Heals Project?

The Love Heals Project is a community-powered movement of creativity, connection, and kindness. Together we make meaningful word-bracelets and gift them anonymously into the community as small acts of care and inclusion. Learn more about the project here.

What's the vibe?

A mix of creative play, gentle connection, and doing something small but meaningful together. It’s slow-paced, low-pressure, and sensory-aware. Chat if you like, or work quietly - both are welcome. This isn’t religious, political, or tied to any belief system. Just people making something kind, side-by-side.

What kind of materials do we use?

We use high-quality beading elastic, colourful 6mm glass and acrylic beads, and a set of 12 letters (not the full alphabet). The limitation is intentional - it invites imagination, creativity, and thoughtful expression. For more customization and a full alphabet, explore BRAINBOW Mantra Bracelet Workshops.

Do we get to keep any of the bracelets we make?

Yes! Every participant is invited to keep one bracelet for themselves as a personal reminder - because kindness includes ourselves, too. The rest are donated, pooled and distributed out into the community.

Who handles communication with participants?

Most groups prefer to share workshop details with their members directly. To make this easy, we provide a ready-to-share poster you can use for invitations and participant communication.

What accessibility and sensory supports do you offer during workshops?

Accessibility is built into every workshop. Adaptations may include:

  • Attention to lighting, noise levels, and room setup, with space to move around
  • Earplugs or ear defenders available
  • Low-scent or no-scent environment
  • Small-group support, gentle pacing, and optional 1:1 assistance
  • Options to support fine motor challenges (e.g., larger-size beads)
  • Clear written instructions and verbal guidance
  • Pre-made kits to reduce decision overwhelm

Our goal is to create a calm, welcoming, and safe environment where participants of all abilities and sensory profiles can engage comfortably and at their own pace.

We’re committed to making our workshops as inclusive as possible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know in advance so we can ensure the space supports everyone.

What happens after a workshop?

After the workshop, your bracelets join hundreds of others made across the community. Together, they ripple outward -shared at events and gifted through community partners. We also keep track of how many participants have taken part and how many bracelets we’ve created together, updating our community tracker as we work toward our goal of 5,000 bracelets.

What if our group wants to make more bracelets?

If your group has already taken part in a facilitated Love Heals workshop, you can borrow a bracelet-making kit to keep creating. This option is available to schools, organizations, and community groups within the Bulkley Valley. A designated point person will sign out the kit, coordinate its use, and return completed bracelets. Kits are available for 2–4 weeks and are limited in number, so booking ahead is encouraged. Create during program time, a few short sessions, or whenever it fits. Finished bracelets are added to the community pool to be gifted forward.
